A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hello,

I am Dr. Sapana Jadoun, currently serving as a Professor (Assistant) at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de Tarapacá, Arica, Chile. Previously, I held a FONDECYT Postdoctoral researcher position (2021-2024), funded by Agencia National de Investigacion y Desarrollo (ANID), Chile.

My academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, in 2019. Prior to that, I obtained a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from St. Willfred’s PG College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India, in 2011, and a bachelor’s degree from Govt. College, University of Kota, India, in 2009.

During my research career, I worked as a Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow from December 2014 to July 2018 on a DST-SERB sponsored project titled “Enhancement of Fluorescent Properties of Conjugated Polymers using Luminol and its Derivatives for their Application in Near-Infrared Region”. Notably, I achieved commendable results, earning qualifications in the CSIR NET (National Eligibility Test) in Chemical Sciences with All India Rank 19th (December 2011) and All India Rank 36th (June 2011).

My contributions to science have been recognized through various accolades, including being listed in the Top 2% of Scientists worldwide by Stanford University, USA, in 2023, and being selected as a Brand Ambassador for India by Bentham Science Publishers, United Arab Emirates, in 2020. I am also a proud member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).

Before joining Universidad de Tarapacá, I served as an Assistant Professor at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad, India, where I also held the position of “Coordinator-Research & Publications”. Before that, I was an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry and Environment Engineering Department at Jaipur National University, Rajasthan, India.

My research endeavors have resulted in over 90 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including approximately 60 research articles, 24 book chapters, and 6 patents, with a significant citation count of 2159, an H-index of 26, and an i10 index of 44 (according to Google Scholar). Throughout my career, I have gained expertise in a wide range of analytical techniques, including UV, ATR FTIR, TEM, SEM, XRD, TGA, DRS, AFSS, EPR, NMR, CV, and ICP-OES.

My research interests primarily revolve around conducting polymers and their functionalization for applications in photocatalysis (advanced oxidation and reduction processes for metal recovery), organic electronics, and bioimaging

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on Materials, Inorganic, and polymers chemistry (Conducting polymers and their functionalization, green synthesis and their applications in photocatalysis (Advanced oxidation and reduction process for metal recover, wastewater treatment, other environmental remediation, etc.), optoelectronics, bioimaging, sensing, etc with expertise in instrumentation on UV, ATR FTIR, TEM, SEM, XRD, TGA, DRS, AFSS, ICP-OES EPR, NMR, CV, Fluorescence, and so on.
